TAPESTRY CROCHET

Carol Ventura's Tapestry Crochet Gallery

Most people are shocked by my choice of medium, crochet. I learned about tapestry crochet when I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala in the 1970's. Since then, I have developed a number of innovations, including the flat tapestry crochet technique that you see here. Over the years, my work has become more intimate, introspective and cathartic. My first pieces were large and made of heavy wool and cotton. Later I began to tapestry crochet with fine linen. Please click on the links below for more about each piece.
